A New Fitness Class. Oh Yes, I did! I’ve been in search of a class that had the intensity I was looking for since last year. One that would whip my booty into shape.
It’s go time cause Summer is just around the corner not to mention, I have a few fun, upcoming trips I want to be ready for.
This week, I finally got up the nerve to take an Orange Theory class. I’m so glad I did! I’ve been putting it off for about a year because it sounded tough, like I won’t be able to finish it tough. I felt totally out of my comfort zone but I walked through the door. First steps, right? Once there, no turning back. My hands were shaking, lol. I know it sounds silly but I’m telling you I was totally in my head. Boy am I glad I stayed. What a great workout. Anyone can do it because you work at your own pace but feel totally supported by the instructor and those working out around you. High fives all around-love it! There’s a heart monitor that you wear and can see all your stats on the big screen. I’m a bit competitive. The heart monitor tells you your heart rate, a few other things and how many calories you burned…woo-hoo! My favorite part, clearly. 😉
They (the Orange Theory Team) say that “In 5 sessions, you will be feeling the difference. In 10 sessions, you will be seeing the difference. And in 20 sessions, you will be living in a completely different body! We exist to help you change your body from the inside out, giving you a longer, more vibrant life.”
TRUTH: This is a tough class. After 3 classes, I still mentally struggle through the 1st half of the class. Am I sore, oh yeah! Is it worth it, YES! I joined the unlimited membership so I have no choice but to workout 5 days a week to make each class about $10. I can take classes anywhere in the world (yes, I said world) there’s an Orange Theory. I can’t wait to try one in New York when my daughter and I visit at the end of the month (watch for the post about our trip). Check them out here and let me know what you think. It’s totally worth it. It’s ok to be out of your comfort zone. You’ve got this babe!
With love & cocoa,
Tanya

You’ve convinced me that this is worth a try! I’m a runner, but have been wanting to try Orange Theory for a while. If you just want to try it at first, do you have to buy a heart rate monitor?
Hi Christie!
You should try it for sure. They will let you borrow one of their heart monitors. It’s a great way to get in there and get it done! Let me know what you think. 🙂
We just got one here in my little town. Thank you for a great article telling me a little more about what to expect!
Hi Celeste,
My pleasure. I’m glad you enjoyed the article. Try it…it is tough at first but feels great afterwards. 😉
